A couple days ago marked one year since my first crafty blog post ever. I missed celebrating with all of you on the actual day for several reasons. The main reasons are that I finished 2 summer school classes the day before, then reported to jury duty and was trying to figure out what to do for Mr. Crafty's birthday {which was yesterday}. I am happy to report that in the past week, I have read TWO non-school books. But not much crafty to report. Oh, I did make these delicious snickerdoodle cupcakes for Mr. Crafty...
By the end of this month I hope to have a pattern/tutorial for this quilt... saying it out loud will make me do it, right?

My favorite part of summer? Hmm. Probably the fact that it stays light so long. It's been over 100 degrees here for over a month, so I'm having a hard time finding anything redeeming about this time of year!

The best part about summer is definitely the extra daylight and being able to walk outside with only a t-shirt and shorts!

I like to tell my kids that my fave part of summer is that once the first day of summer hits it is all down hill to autumn. :D I LOVE autumn ya see. I would have to say my fave thing about summer is the fresh fruits and veggies!

The best part of summer is freedom from after school care of my grandniece for a month. Love her yet she tires us out. This means I can sit in the easy chair during the blistering hot afternoon and quilt. Slow summer days are good for recharging.

I love it when the day is so hot you can't wait for it to cool off, so you watch the sun set and once it is all the way down - the whole earth sighs. The critters and children romp in the lingering light and everyone sits outside - doing nothing.

ReplyDeleteWhile I work full time all year long, summer is our least busy season, and the time of year when we are most easily able to take vacations. That, combined with the fact that the kids aren't in school, allows me to be much more spontaneous than I can be during the over-scheduled academic year. My favorite part of summer is being able to go outside to my garden and pick fresh produce -this year primarily being tomatoes- everyday! My 4 year old and my 2 year old LOVE munching on them, and they never last long enough to chill in the fridge.

I clear everything off my calendar so I can enjoy every moment with her - I can sooo remember being a mommy and having so little time to spend getting close to my children. I always had so many responsibilities. Being a grandmother is so much more fun.

To be honest, I don't really care for summer....My last seven summers have been spent in cities where it gets in 90's plus...I grew up in a city where 65 was HOT so going into the 90's and 100's, um hello, way too pale for the heat :-)....So I would say my favorite part of summer is when it's cooling down, getting a little chilly at night heeheehee....btw, 3 charm packs!!! Whoa!!!
